Pear Shapes

News: Market has cooled for 0.30 to 1.20 ct. diamonds. Supply shortages of well-cut fancies supporting prices. 1.20 to 3.99 ct., F-J, VS-SI goods stable. Oval is leading shape, followed by Radiant, Emerald, Pear, Cushion and Marquise. Retailers offering broader product ranges as consumers seek alternative cuts. Growing interest in fancy-shape engagement rings. Oversizes trading at higher prices than usual. Excellent shapes commanding premiums. Off-make, poorly cut fancies illiquid and difficult to sell. 

Rapaport prices are based on fine cut, well-shaped, natural diamonds. Poorly cut or shaped stones often trade at very large discounts. 

 Pears:  strange demand for us and far East market.

Emerald: strange demand for VS+ and nice Sls.Best seller among square shapes.

 Cushions: Good demand. Us market buying commercial qualities.

Princess: Good demand.

 Radiant: strange demand long radiant

Marquise: Some demand , supported by low supply.  

Asschers: Relatively weak demand.  

Hearts: stable demand,with some Hong Kong demond for perfect shapes.

Notice:  Oversizes may trade at 5% to 15% permiums over similar quality straight size.

Oversizes are (0.60-0.69) , (0.80-0.89) , (0.96-0.99) , (1.30-1.49) , (1.75-1.99) , (2.50+),(3.50+),&(5.50+)
